Product Overview

Service robots integrate autonomous movement, human–robot interaction, task execution and connected management in a single platform. They can provide guidance, reception, food delivery and information services. Testing considers intended use, user groups, travel speed and payload to assess electrical safety, mechanical risks, wireless communication and continuous operation.

Assessment focuses on collision and pinch hazards in shared spaces, travel stability, emergency stop response, charging contact safety and EMC performance when touchscreens, voice functions and wireless modules operate together. Operating modes for food delivery, guidance and other functions are arranged according to the actual configuration.

GTG Group provides support from technical document review and test plan confirmation through sample validation, report delivery and certification applications. Testing of the complete product, battery, wireless modules and power supplies is coordinated according to the target market and product configuration, helping manufacturers identify design issues, verify corrections and prepare technical documentation.

Test Basis & Assessment Priorities
Test Category Assessment Basis & Scope
Product Safety For personal care robots, the scope of ISO 13482 may be considered. Information interaction equipment and its power supplies are assessed against electrical safety standards appropriate to their use, with a separate risk analysis for the mobile mechanism.
Electromagnetic Compatibility Emissions and immunity tests are arranged according to the product category and operating environment, covering typical operating modes.
Radio Frequency Test items are confirmed according to the target market, frequency bands, antennas and transmission modes. Existing module reports are reviewed for conditions of integration into the complete product.
Battery & Charging Battery safety and transport tests are confirmed according to battery type, use and transport method. Charging protection in the complete product is also verified.
Performance & Environment Test conditions and acceptance criteria address collision and pinch hazards, operating stability, emergency stop and recovery, interaction functions, payload and runtime, and automatic recharging.

The applicable standards editions and scope are confirmed during planning. Reference:Scope of ISO 13482。

FAQs

First distinguish uses such as guidance, food delivery and personal care, and establish the motion mechanism and type of human contact before selecting applicable standards. Personal care robot standards cannot automatically be applied to all commercial robots.
First compare the chassis, batteries, power supplies, housings, wireless modules and software functions. A representative model may be assessed for a series sharing the same critical safety construction. Differences in trays, payloads or interaction systems require additional verification.
Assess collision, crushing, trapping, tipping and unintended-start risks according to expected speed, contact areas and location of use. Also examine speed limits, emergency stopping and fault recovery strategies.
