A product quality test report assesses safety and performance for admission to platforms such as Tmall, JD.com and supermarkets, or as a reference for consumers. Platforms set requirements based on product, industry and category, using GB national standards, industry standards and e-commerce standards. Without a satisfactory report, products cannot enter platforms such as JD.com or Tmall. Many products require reports from laboratories with CNAS and CMA qualifications. Products in the CCC catalogue must also provide a CCC certificate.
I. Introduction to Quality Test Reports
II. Quality Test Report Requirements for E-Commerce Admission
1. Reports submitted by the company must be issued by a qualified national laboratory.

IV. Quality Test Report Application Process
1. Provide sufficient samples for testing.
2. Send the samples and application form by courier.
3. The laboratory provides a quotation.
4. Confirm the price.
5. Arrange testing and prepare a draft report. Issue the formal report after confirming the draft is correct.
V. Quality Test Report Requirements
1. Provide a Chinese user manual. The product name, model and parameters must match the nameplate. If one manual covers different models or specifications in the same series, it must explain the differences. Font size and typeface requirements also apply.
2. The product must have a nameplate showing the manufacturer's name. Products made in China must show the manufacturer's legally registered name. Imported products may omit the original manufacturer's name but must show the country or region of origin.
VI. Quality Test Report Fees
Fees depend on the product, test items and standards, varying with product category, testing scope and required time.
VII. Quality Test Report Validity
1. Testing uses appropriate national or industry standards according to the product's nature, use and electrical characteristics. Reports do not have a fixed validity period; they follow the applicable regulations. In theory, a report remains valid while those regulations remain unchanged.
2. Tmall's supervisory body conducts random inspections. Depending on the product, it may require reports to be renewed annually or every six months to maintain the quality of products currently sold.
3. Quality supervision authorities generally arrange annual sampling inspections, so surveillance inspection reports older than one year should no longer be relied upon. Commissioned inspection reports carry the relevant markings or notes and should generally have a lower level and shorter period of acceptance. Product quality inspection reports do not normally have a fixed expiry date.
VIII. Where to Obtain a Quality Test Report
A product quality test report comprehensively and objectively presents product quality information. It is generally issued by a professional third-party testing organization independent of both supplier and purchaser. Such organizations offer independence, impartiality and authority and are qualified to issue objective test data to the public.
