1. Introduction to Chemical Testing
Electrical and electronic products are everywhere: phones and electronic watches, office laptops and desktop computers, telephones, household televisions and refrigerators, and children's electric toys. Their safety is closely linked to everyday life. Testing for toxic and hazardous chemicals in these products is therefore essential.
2. Chemical Testing Laboratory
The chemical laboratory of a GTG Group affiliate provides testing for the Batteries Directive, RoHS Directive, REACH SVHCs (Substances of Very High Concern), WEEE Directive, China RoHS, CPSIA, EU packaging requirements, lead, cadmium, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phthalates and other hazardous substances.
3. Chemical Test Services
Services include RoHS testing, RoHS XRF screening, RoHS report consolidation, REACH testing, WEEE assessment, PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), POHS, PFOS, California Proposition 65, halogens, azo compounds (AZO) and phthalates.
(1) RoHS testing: lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP).
(2) REACH testing: testing of metallic and non-metallic materials.
(3) WEEE assessment: recovery and recycling rates of materials used in electrical and electronic products.
(4) PAH testing: naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, pyrene, benz[a]anthracene, chrysene, benzo[b]fluoranthene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, benzo[a]pyrene, indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene, dibenz[a,h]anthracene, benzo[g,h,i]perylene, 1-methylnaphthalene and 2-methylnaphthalene.
(5) California Proposition 65 testing: lead (Pb), phthalates, cadmium, formaldehyde and arsenic (As).
(6) Halogen testing: fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), iodine (I) and astatine (At).
